  1. Thats awesome girl :) But dont lose it too fast ok?

You want to maintain this loss so you have to make this more about a lifestyle change and not just a diet.

These are a few good about just that:

If you lose more than 1-2 lbs a week then you are most likley loosing water, not fat and you are more than likely to gain again or not maintain the loss when the water comes back.

Good LUCK! Keep losing, keep healthy!!

  2. That’s awesome girl! But don’t loss too fast ok?

I know you want this to be a permanent loss so instead of looking at this as a diet you have to look at this as a lifestyle change. If you simply diet the weight will come back as soon as you stop the diet. And be honest, you will fall off the wagon, we all do. But who cares? We all should be able to indulge now and then.

If you are losing more than 1-2 lbs a week it an indication that you are loosing water and not fat and again, the weight will come back. Fat loss is only achieved when weight is lost slowly. Plus you need to ensure that you are still getting all the nutrients and vitamins that you need to be a healthy woman.

If you deduct just 300-500 calories a day through better food choices and exercise (you HAVE to exercise!) you will see slow, but long term weight loss and overall health benefits.

I know you want this weight off, but if you do it too quickly you will be right in this position again in another year’s time. Crash diets don’t work and no one wants to be a YO-YO.

    Keep loosing & Keep healthy!

  3. Aw, thanks for looking out for me, man!
I totally hear ya on the fast weight loss. Not the way to go. I know the first week, when I lost the 3, it was mostly water weight. It happens every time I try to lose. I got from eating shite to eating well, and drinking well too, and initially it falls off.
When I lost weight last year, it was FAST for 2 months straight. Which probably explains why I gained half of it back :)
I think 1-2 pounds per week is a reasonable expectation, and with all the Christmas parties coming up, I totally expect to indulge intelligently. If I didn't buckle down, I could see myself gaining all my hard earned pounds back, so I'm happy I decided to take the bull by the horns, so to speak.
How's it going on your end?

  4. :) You have such a good attitude and outlook!

My end is going crazy good! Eating super well and am very close to making the full commitment to a complete vegan diet. Betwen how amazing I have been feelig these past few weeks and all the enviro & health implications I can't come up with a reason not to.

I eat little meat (red or white) as it is (thou sushi will be had to say good bye to) and my dairy intake is also very limited as it stands so the change is really not that big overall.

Been reading a lot about it, blogging and playing with tofu, tempeh and soy products. Gotta tell you, the tempeh wrap that I made for lunch today was so damn good that I don't think I'm gonna miss meat at all.

Gonna post some snaps and recipies I have been playing with after work.

Almost 5 lbs down 15ish to go :)

  5. WICKED! That's so cool about the diet changes - The way I look at it, you gotta eat whatever makes you feel good, and eventually crap is gonna make you feel crappy one way or another.

I feel best on a low sugar, high veg diet, and I feel awesome when I can chase around J without getting winded. That's where I wanna be, weight and inches come in 2nd and 3rd to feeling awesome :)
