*Blush*

Although I'm hovering at around only 3 pounds lost (ticker can't be posted in this new layout without buggering up everything. I'm searching for a more ticker-friendly format...), I received a few compliments this weekend about the way I look! Namely when my mother-in-law pulled me aside and said "Have you lost a lot more weight?" *Blush*

OH, and went jeans shopping for the first time in a LONG time and am fitting into my University waist size! WOOOOOOO! ;)

Now, I'm not letting it go to my head, and I have taken a couple of extra steps to help me achieve my goal. I've given up desserts for lent. Candy, chocolate, pastries, ice-cream etc... They are all on my "DO NOT CONSUME" list until Easter (which, conveniently is only a handful of days before my birthday!). I've also re-established the "no eating after the kid is in bed" rule (which was implemented last year at this time - with great results). And am trying to AGAIN consume the appropriate amount of water during the day (that last one starts today).

So, hopefully, with my added diligence, the pounds will start to drop once again.

  1. CONGRATS!!! those complimets are the single best thing a gal can hear when on the weight loss wagon! i got a few myself this weekend and it made my heart soar! particularly when one came from a dude ;) i'm still pretty far from my goal but its only more motivation to keep working out and stick to my eating plan.

  3. hey, just wondering what your diet plan and weigh-in schedule was? i noticed that you dropped another lb this week and that’s great! I weight myself once a week, at the same time in the same clothes - That would be buck-ass nekkid as soon as I get up each Thursday morning. That way I know nothing is messing up my weigh ins and its always the same variables each week.

  4. I've been trying to do the whole - weigh in on Friday - thing (like you, in my b-day suit, before my shower), but I sometimes check in on other days, and if there's a difference (good or bad) I note it.

Last week I went up when I checked on Wed (I think) and noted it, and then I checked this morning too (just out of curiosity - I was feeling thin - LOL!) and noted the difference too :)

  5. OH, and as for diet plan, I've been limiting all carbs to only whole grains, fruit and veggies (and the VERY occasional salty treat - No desserts though, still!). And even at that, trying to limit my carbs to only about 20g MAX per meal/snack.

I've also been trying to make healthier choices all around (, and trying to limit caffeine as well (caffeine free tea).

So essentially, I'm eating like I'm pregnant and diabetic again - just a little more regimented. :)

The main thing for me, though, is the carb limiting. I ALWAYS overdo it with carbs, and that's what gets me gaining again. When I restrict my consumption on a regular basis - the pounds fall off!!!

  6. Right on - Sounds like a great plan. Eating like a diabetic seems to be the best way to lose weight and keep healthy, at least I find that to be the case, and it seem like its becoming more and more the appoved method overall in the diet/health community :) Now, if only my father would do the same ....
