Back in the saddle again...

So that's it. I've gotta get back on the wagon. The weight loss wagon, that is... When I put my mind to it last year (almost at the *same time*, last year... Hmmm... Interesting) I lost 30 pounds.

I held that weight ALL last summer. So 4 months. It was a good summer, I was very diligent on watching what I ate, I exercised a whole lot, and I felt awesome! (I gotta say, on a side note, exercising is WAY easier when A) You're at home all day, and B) It's SO nice out! Exercising during the winter is WAY harder when A) You're at a desk all day, and B) It's narsty and cold out.)

But, I've gained back 10 of that 30 :(. SO... It's time to get back. Back to caring more about how I look and feel, and caring less about how much time it takes to actually MAKE my own meals. Fast food = Bad food. (And, Sidenote #2, Fast food also = $$$$ food). I've also got to go for walks on my lunch, and stop comfort eating.

So, I've made myself a goal. I will lose 15-20 pounds by my birthday, April 17th. That gives me 2.5 months, more than enough time. I lost 30 in the same amount of time last year... I can SOOO do it. :)

Up goes the ticker... EEK!

  1. way to go kim! if you set your mind to it you can do it - i have offically lost 10 lbs since jan 1 and I am aiming to lose another 18 lbs for april 14.

the big deal is making your lunch and bringing healthy snacks to work so your not tempted to hit the junk isle. i tend to make big batches of things like veggie lasagna and chili on the weekends and freeze them in reasonable portions and then i can just grab them and go and not have to fuss in the morning.

also do the same with veggies, cut up a few red peppers, a small cucumber, celery and toss in some baby carrots and there's my snacks all ready to go when I am. and apples and oranges are great portable snacks. and i keep almonds and rainsin mixed in a tupperwear in my desk drawer for instant protien fix.

this week i didnt spend even $1 on food! so not only is the waist line shrinking, so is my spending!!

70% diet and 30% exercise = weight loss

just make sure you dont drop the weight too fast or it will come back - 1-2 lbs a week is a normal weight loss.

check out my new blog where i have been tracking my progess and posting (a lot!) about all things health related.

  3. Aw, thanks, Erin!

First, I need to do a REALLY GOOD grocery trip. I've got a whole bunch of meal plans and ideas, so now it's time to put them into action! :)

It's such a good feeling to reclaim control over my body! ;)
